The Celebration of the Feast of
Divine Mercy
When
Jesus appeared to St. Faustina as the Divine Mercy,
He revealed to her the second form of worshipping His
mercy, and that is the Celebration of the
Feast of His Mercy. Jesus said,
“Tell My priests that I want this
image, which you will paint with a brush, to be solemnly
blessed on the first Sunday after Easter; that Sunday
is to be the Feast of Mercy.” (Diary
- Divine Mercy in My Soul, 49) “The
Feast of My Mercy has issued forth from My very depths
for the consolation of the whole world"
(Diary, 1517) "and
it is confirmed in the vast depths of My tender mercies.”
(Diary, 420)
He made a
special promise for
priests who would preach about His mercy and told
St. Faustina about the many
graces that could be received on that day. |
